When I turned the BIG 50, it became a huge turning point in my life. I had finally reached a point in my life where I decided that not only did I want more in my life, but I realized I deserved more. I deserved more happiness and more healing in my life and the only person that could give that to me was me.

After taking some well needed time off to finish a writing project, I am finally back in the game. Just in case you missed my previous post, I took some time off to make myself a priority, something that I along with many other women struggle with from time to me. Being a single mother of three children, I know how difficult making our lives and our time a priority can be. It is difficult but necessary to take the time out to feed our mind, body and our spirit to not only be well rounded but to be well grounded.

During my absence I finally fullfilled one of my professional writing goals by contributing a chapter to “Chocolate & Diamonds For A Woman’s Soul, an Amazon best selling anthology filled with inspiring stories about faith, resilence and grace. I was proud and honored to collaborate with with many brave women authors from all around the world share their stories of hope and healing. From stories about grief, depression, the courage to dream bigger, living out the commitment of love and marriage to the devastation of divorce, the messages behind the stories are clear.

God can take the mess in our lives and turn them into another woman’s powerful message. Inside every woman there is a struggle and story that inspires and has the potential to transform the life of someone else.

It was an honor to not only fulfill a life long dream of mine to write but to move forward in my own healing process after the trauma of divorce and grieving the death of the man I had loved for over twenty years of my life.

I also took some time to work on some other projects that are near and dear to my heart like starting Queen Adventure’s “Each One, Reach One Project. ”  You will find out more on that later. I also finished my book “The Single Woman’s Rise From Pain To Power: Overcoming Your Fear Of Being Alone”. That book will be released soon, so stay tuned!

To say I’ve been busy would be an understatement however, the most important thing I learned in my time away was the importance of loving myself enough to know that I am worthy of making my life a priority. I must admit I had forgotten that along the way.

My quiet time, my personal goals and my dreams are important to me as well as my overall health and wellbeing. If we don’t believe we are worth making these things a priority we will never have enough time or energy to make them a priority.

Simply stated, if we don’t believe we deserve to make our emotional, physical and spiritual health a priority we wont. Everything and everyone else will always come before us and our wellbeing because we feel we really don’t deserve better.

Your time and your life has value. In a world where it seems that everyone is trying to be like everyone else, just be you. It is important not to lose who you are in all the chaos and drama in our lives. Always remember to take care of you. Just like the finest of chocolates and the most brilliant of diamonds you are a rare find. No one else in this world is just like you.

God designed you to be unique. He knows everything about you. From the fibers of each strand of your hair to tips of your toes he celebrates who you are and all that you can be. He has gifted you with own gifts and talents to nuture, grow and protect.

In a world that celebrates being the same as everybody else it’s easy to be like everyone else. Simply by being a genuine and original version of yourself, you will be a very rare find. Always remember the things that possess the most value usually are.
